NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo

I don't know if I've mentioned this on my blog before but NARS is my favorite make up brand of all time. I am yet to be disappointed by a product I've purchased from NARS, I love them! I really wanted a new duo from them as I was so impressed by the other one I had previously purchased. I opted for Kalahari as the colour screamed "WEARABLE" "EVERYDAY" "ESSENTIAL".

The colour pay off from these eye shadows is impeccable and the finish is gorgeous, If I HAD to compare them to a MAC finish it would be Veluxe Pearl but in my opinion these really cannot be compared. The gold on the left is a beautiful light shade with slight browny, gingery tones to it. The right shade is similar to satin taupe but a little warmer and in my option is a lot nicer for definition.

I really cannot fault the NARS duos they are incredible. If you find the perfect shades for you and your eyes you will honestly use them everyday and they will be a staple in your make up bag. They are a little on the pricey side compared to MAC but I seriously think they are worth it and I'd highly recommend branching out into the world of NARS shadows.

Thank you for reading!

My Current Favorite Eyeshadows

Clockwise- MUA Heaven & Earth Palette, MAC Ricepaper, MAC Woodwinked, MAC All That Glitters, MAC Satin Taupe, NARS Cyprus.

This post isn't full of new or exciting products pretty much just things you may have heard of before! I really wanted to talk about my favorite eyeshadow's at the moment as I am a real eyeshadow girl, I wear it everyday without fail! I'm mainly into warm toned golden or brown shades but I do love greys and purples too. These have been my go to eyeshadow's for the past few weeks and some of them combined are absolutely killer!

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette This is such an easy and affordable palette. I will generally reach for this when I'm in a rush as it's so easy to use and you can instantly find a perfect combo! I really love the gold in the palette (third from the left- top row) and prefer over Urban Decays Half Baked which is way more expensive! It's great for creating a warm toned smokey eye.

MAC Ricepaper This is a perfect all over lid colour and I've used it pretty much everyday since I purchased it. It looks really classic paired with just black winged liner.

MAC Woodwinked This is one of my old faithful eyeshadow's which I know suits me. It remains in my go to MAC quad for easy use. I just pop this on the outer corner with a bit of Ricepaper and BOOM I've got my perfect combo.

MAC All That Glitters I never really got the hype about this shadow until recently. When I first got it I kind of thought "Is that it?! The famous All That Glitter is rubbish"! It remained in my larger palette unused for quite some time until I whipped it out the other week when wanting a really natural eye. This eyeshadow looks gorgeous on it's own with lashings of mascara for effortless eye make up.

MAC Satin Taupe  I loved this shade when my hair was blonde but since going back darker I've barely reached for it until pairing it with MAC'S Soba eyeshadow. Soba and Satin Taupe create a perfect slightly darker more defined simple smokey eye.

NARS Cyprus As I said above I love golds and this eyeshadow just hits the spot! It's the perfect gold and is so buttery feeling. NARS eyeshadows are the best quality in my opinion and will never let you down. This shade looks gorgeous paired with Satin Taupe and doing my eyebrows a little stronger (for some reason).

So thats a a round up of my current eyeshadow loves, like I said I'm a bit of an eyeshadow junkie and I'm always trying out different eye looks but these shades have remained firmly to the front of my drawer for a long time.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Laura Mercier Luster Eyeshadow In Dusk

Laura Mercier Luster Eye Colour In Dusk @ John Lewis £18.50

In my recent "What I Bought" post I featured this gorgeous little eyeshadow after falling in love with it at the counter. Laura Mercier wasn't really a brand which excited me until recently when I bought there loose powder and fell in love! The first thing that drew me to this eyeshadow was the colour and the fact it was called a "luster" shadow. I absolutely love MAC luster finishes as they are super sparkly (which unfortunately comes at a price with the fall out!). I really wanted to see how the two compared.

I apply this to my lid usually using a MAC 239 or if I'm going for a more subtle "blendy blendy" look I'll use a Sigma E35. The eyeshadow is really nicely pigmented and transfers well on the lid. The colour just looks to die for and makes my green eyes stand out really well. The eyeshadow itself is very soft to touch not quite as buttery feeling as NARS but a close runner up! Some people find purples quite scary and hard to work with on the eye but I love a purple smokey eye and this makes a great all over lid base colour.

Compared to MAC's luster finish shadows these are hardly as sparkly or chunky. The eyeshadow is what I would call "shimmery" it doesn't have visible glitter particles but still gives a nice sheen to the eye. My favorite way to wear this is with a bit of espresso blended through the crease or just with lots of mascara to create a really pretty "doll like" eye.

The price might put some people off for a single eyeshadow, but they do have some really nice, eye catching shades. I would call this a nice every now and then treat for when I feel like buying a nice new eyeshadow.

Hope your all well.
Lots of love, Caterina xo
